Terms of service
Your consent to be bound by these terms is both on your own behalf and on behalf of any corporate entity that employs you or which you represent, and the term “user” as used herein will be deemed to refer to both you and your employer, jointly and severally.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit Meldbot, or any Meldbot Party’s liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If it turns out that a section of this agreement is not enforceable, that section will be corrected as is necessary, and the rest of these terms will still apply.
Table of Contents
This website, and any services offered through it, as well as the owner of the website. This entity might also be referred to in this document as “the website”, “the service”, “our service”, “our”, “us”, or “we”.
Any third party web application that’s connected to Meldbot. This includes, among others, any tracking and analytics solutions we might employ, our payment processing vendor, and applications to which we offer integrations.
Any third party application that’s offered as an integration in Meldbot, such as Asana™ or Trello™. A user can choose to go through an authentication process, during which the user sends Meldbot credentials for her or his account in the third party application, or the user might log into the third party application and approve access on her or his account to Meldbot. Following this authentication process, the user has an integrated account on Meldbot, with that third party integration.
A user’s account in any third party integrated application, such as Asana™ or Trello™. A user might have multiple accounts of the same third party application connected to the same Meldbot account, subject to the limited number of authorized accounts as set forth in the applicable subscription plan. An account is controlled via credentials that Meldbot extracts during the authentication process and stores in its database. This entity may also be referred to in this document as “accounts on third party integrations”.
An individual or organization that have registered to an account on Meldbot and have received access via their choice of email and password. This also includes visitors to the website that try out our online spreadsheet prior to registration by connecting an account on a third party integration. This entity might also be referred to in this document as a “Meldbot account”, “user account”, “you” or “your”.
A Meldbot user that had enlisted to a paid service plan, and that has paid the amount owed for the current billing cycle.
A service layer offered for a certain price for Meldbot users. At the time of writing this document, the offered plans are: “Forever Free”, “Standard” and “Plus”. This entity may also be referred to in this document as “service plan”.
A third party business or individual that we work with to fulfil some of our business goals.
By signing up and using Meldbot, you represent and warrant that you understand and comply with all the conditions laid out above, as well as the conditions laid out in the “Acceptable Use” section below, and all other terms and restrictions as specified hereunder, and that you will not use Meldbot in any way that is in violation of laws or regulations in your place of residence.
Meldbot reserves the right to refuse access or close accounts of any Meldbot user, without regard to specific violations, as well as to change the terms of eligibility specified here.
By using Meldbot, you agree that software, including that which runs this website, was built by mere mortal beings, and as such will surely be imperfect, and will occasionally not serve its intended purpose successfully. Any damage that is the consequence of alteration, loss or unsuccessful modification of data by Meldbot should be accounted for beforehand. If using Meldbot, you should make sure any data that’s crucial to your business is backed up regularly separately from the Meldbot website or services.
Meldbot is intended for the alteration of data in accounts on third party applications with which it is integrated. A user might, by her or his own mistake, or by the fault of the application, alter or delete data in an integrated account in an unintended manner. Meldbot’s developers have prohibited some actions that were deemed too risky because of this reason, such as deleting entire projects in project management systems, which in turn might prevent access to all underlying tasks. However, Meldbot cannot prevent users from making mistakes entirely, and cannot be assured to be free of mistakes in its own codebase. It is thus the user’s responsibility to make sure any action made on our website or services can be reverted using backups stored on a third party platform. For this purpose, any third party integration that offers backup or version control mechanisms would be safer for Meldbot users.
To be clear, Meldbot will not be held responsible or liable for any damages or losses (loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or any other kind of loss to your business) in any event and under no legal theory, including where an action on a Meldbot website or service resulted in unwanted deletion of data on an integrated account, or alteration or addition of data to an integrated account in a manner that does not correspond to changes that the user actively requested. In case of requested addition or alteration of data on an integrated account that has unwanted results or side effects, the user is solely responsible for the results of any such action, and should be prepared to rectify such issues on her or his own.
Meldbot regularly imports data from integrated accounts on third party integrations. This data can then be altered locally and parts of those changes can be sent back to the integrated accounts. Each part of the work flow that was just described can cause data inconsistency between Meldbot and the integrated account.
Please review the warnings presented while using the application or services carefully, and refer to our disclaimer on data accuracy for a detailed explanation on possible pitfalls.
To be clear, Meldbot shall not be held responsible or liable to any damages or losses (loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or any other kind of loss to your business) that is the result of an inconsistency between the data presented on Meldbot and data on an integrated account. Meldbot will not be held accountable if the list of changes that is the result of user actions on its online spreadsheet contains mistakes or if these mistakes are then transmitted to an integrated account.
Meldbot uses industry best practices to ensure that our servers could withhold large amounts of traffic and that our service will remain available even if parts of the infrastructure are temporarily down. However, Meldbot is a utility that makes work simpler and not a platform that businesses solely rely on for their continuous operation. Anything accomplished through Meldbot can be done within the user interfaces of the integrated apps themselves. Therefore, Meldbot makes no assurances to the availability of its service or to the durability of the information stored on it.
Meldbot should not be relied upon as a backup user interface in case an third party application isn’t available, or as a backup storage for data stored in any such third party application. Meldbot is offered as a utility application for simplifying work processes and should only be relied upon for those types of tasks.
As long as you’re a member of a paid plan, you must provide us with valid credit card information which you are authorized to use, and allow us to deduct a monthly fee as stated in the pricing section of the website. We will try to automatically update information when credit cards expire, but you are responsible for making sure your credit card information is up to date. If we are unable to process payments for your account, we will restrict access to your account on the Meldbot website and services and contact you via email. It is agreed that all past due amounts under these terms shall bear interest at the maximum rate permitted by law, beginning with the date on which the applicable amount became due. No refunds will be provided unless required under applicable law or explicitly set forth in these terms.
Meldbot uses a payment processing vendor called Stripe to handle payments for paid plans. Stripe is a well known service for online payments, used by popular applications such as Slack and Kickstarter. Stripe has incorporated all the best practices in online payments into its workflow, making is a very secure and privacy aware solution with regard to handling credit card information.
You can read more about how Stripe handles security on their website: https://stripe.com/docs/security/stripe
All payments under these terms are of net income. You shall bear all value added, state, local, withholding, and other taxes or other charges applicable to the services and support. You will pay any such taxes or charges no later than within thirty (30) days after your receipt of proper bills or statements from Meldbot or the taxing authorities.
Meldbot is a subscription based business, and Meldbot users that choose one of the paid plans will be charged on a monthly basis according to their chosen service plan. Meldbot will charge customers according to the plan that they’ve chosen and not according to how many integrated apps were in active use. The pricing for each service plan is defined in the pricing section of the website. Meldbot reserves the right to change the pricing of some or all of its service plans at any time in the future, and will inform users of any such changes via email.
In the lifetime of a customer, the chosen plan might change several times. A user might choose to upgrade, downgrade or delete her or his plan anytime during a billing cycle. Meldbot also reserves the right to close a user’s account at any time. Meldbot relies on a method called proration employed by our payment processing vendor, Stripe. This method attempts to ensure that customers are only billed for the period of time in which a plan was active, and not necessarily for the entire month.
Under certain service plans, Meldbot will impose limitations on the number of integrated accounts that might result in existing integrated accounts disappearing from your account. You can re-gain access to those integrated accounts by upgrading back to the higher layer of service plan.
Following a change of plan, if you feel a charge was made in a way that does not correctly reflect the period of time a plan was active, you may contact our customer success team for assistance. We will happily reimburse a customer for an entire month if we feel that a mistake was made with her or his billing.
For more information on Stripe’s proration mechanism, you can read about it on Stripe’s own website: https://support.stripe.com/questions/handling-subscription-changes
Meldbot is dedicated to helping organizations and individuals that are doing good in the world. If you work in an education institution, a nonprofit organization or a business that helps make the world a better place, please contact our customer success team about preferred pricing. Meldbot reserves the right to choose which organizations it deems worthy of discounted pricing, and does not guarantee discounts for any organization, regardless of their stated purpose or tax status.
Meldbot specifies the limitations laid out in each service plan on the pricing section of its public website. These conditions may change from time to time, either because of new features and integrations, or for any other reason we see fit. In any case where a change is made in a plan’s conditions or pricing that is not to the user’s benefit, we will inform all affected users in advance and allow them enough time to take any appropriate steps such as upgrading, downgrading or closing their accounts, prior to making the change active.
In any case where a limitation is imposed on your account in a way that doesn’t correspond to the stated conditions of the chosen plan, please contact our customer success team of assistance.
Upon signing up for and using Meldbot, you agree to the following code of use:
The team that built and maintains Meldbot did their best to adhere to security best practices and modern techniques and technologies, such that Meldbot will be safe to use. We have put in place precautions against known vulnerabilities in websites such as CSRF attacks, and we encrypt all communications using modern technologies. You can review the quality of our encryption at any third party website that offers such reports, such as here:
Despite the efforts described above, any application that’s offered online is vulnerable, and as such, so is Meldbot. Meldbot can therefore make no assurances that it is completely safe from unwanted penetration. In case such an event does happen, we will do our best to inform users as soon as it is safe to do so, and will make our best to diminish the damage that might be incurred on users.
We advise Meldbot users to follow known precautions for handling passwords so as to limit the possibility of unwanted access to their account:
By signing up for a Meldbot user account, you agree to take precautions to maintain the confidentiality of your password and other account information, and you agree to notify Meldbot immediately of any suspected unauthorized use of your account. Meldbot will not be liable under any circumstances for damages caused by unwanted access to your account or data.
We encourage users, penetration testers and white-hat hackers to report any bug or vulnerability they encounter. You can submit any inquiries or reports via email. Please keep in mind that communication via email is not encrypted.
To be clear, Meldbot shall have no liability for any damages or losses (loss of profits, loss of opportunity, or any other loss to your business) that are due to a breach to your account or to our systems, as well as due to stolen or hacked passwords that might affect your data in other websites.
You shall not disclose to third parties nor use for any purpose other than for the proper use of the services any Confidential Information received from Meldbot in whatever form under these terms or in connection with the services without the prior written permission of Meldbot. “Confidential Information” shall mean all data and information, not made available to the general public, oral or written, that relates to Meldbot's past, present, or future research, development or business activities, information relating to services, developments, inventions, processes, plans, financial information, customer and supplier lists, forecasts, and projections. You shall limit access to Confidential Information to those of your personnel for whom such access is reasonably necessary for the proper use of the Services under these Terms. Such personnel shall be bound by written confidentiality obligations not less restrictive than those provided for herein. You shall be responsible for any breach of these Terms by any of your personnel. You shall protect the Confidential Information with the same degree of care, but no less than a reasonable degree of care, to prevent unauthorized disclosure or use of Confidential Information, as you exercise in protecting your own proprietary information. The aforementioned limitations shall not apply to Confidential Information which you can demonstrate: (i) was in your possession prior to disclosure hereunder provided that, immediately upon disclosure, you have brought this fact to the attention of Meldbot; or (ii) was in the public domain at the time of disclosure or later became part of the public domain without breach of the confidentiality obligations herein contained; or (iii) was disclosed by a third party without breach of any obligation of confidentiality; or (iv) is disclosed pursuant to administrative or judicial action, provided that you shall use your best efforts to maintain the confidentiality of the Confidential Information. If only a portion of the Confidential Information falls under any of the above alternatives, then only that portion of the Confidential Information shall be excluded from the use and disclosure restrictions of these Terms.

All right, title and interest in and to the services and the code, including associated intellectual property rights and all improvements, modifications, revisions, derivative works, NRE, customization and integration work product, customer feedback, suggestions and white-label branded applications, are and shall remain the sole and exclusive property of Meldbot and its licensors. You may not remove or alter any copyright notice, trademark or other proprietary or restrictive notice or legend affixed to, embedded, contained or included in the website or services or any material provided by Meldbot. You may not copy or use them except as explicitly permitted under these terms. Content that is extracted from third party integrations is subject to the copyright of those applications. Trademarks and assets of third party applications on the Meldbot website are subject to the trademarks and other intellectual property rights of those applications.
Meldbot does not own any user data that was extracted from integrated accounts on third party applications. We make use of this data to provide you with our services and may review it for the purpose of aiding users, solving bugs, and for analyzing user behavior so as to improve the user experience of our services, but do not have any ownership rights on such content.
You or Meldbot can terminate this agreement for any reason and at any time by sending notice to the other party. A notice for account termination via email or a contact form on this website will not be honored. Instead, a user must use the ‘delete account’ button in the account settings area to shut down her or his account.
Meldbot will refund a prorated portion of your monthly prepayment upon completely closing the account. Meldbot reserves the right to keep the account open until we can validate that the requesting entity is indeed the owner of the account. Meldbot will be allowed to delete any data relating to your account upon closing the account. If a user does not log into our website or use our service consecutively for 12 months, we may regard that account as closed and remove all related data.
The agreement set out in this document will continue to apply after account termination, especially with regard to proprietary content protection and compliance with law.

Our total liability for all claims made about the website or services in any month will be no more than what you paid us for in the previous month.
